An opportunity to get together once a week with other Ladies and take a trip to a nearby leisure centre to take part in aqua aerobics. Everyone&#8217;s encouraged to swim especially those who fear water and swimming.
</p>
<p>
Aqua aerobics is one of the best low impact exercises especially for joints. You will feel fresh, light and revitalised after a session of aqua aerobics.
</p>
<p>
This session also gives an opportunity to socialise and interact with each other by sharing similar experiences.

<p>
Mil Milaap sessions endeavour to change ones behaviour, attitude and lifestyle. Each week, different topics are picked up and students explore experiences. The purpose of these sessions are to help students to lead their life with family and friends in positive a way.
</p>
<p>
This class also helps build confidence in day to day activities and remove isolation. This also helps members to cope with ill health and relationships. Guests are also invited to speak on different topics regularly to encourage discussions and engage in debates.
</p>
<p>
Other aspects of Mel Milaap include trips, walking and other physical activities. In addition students are motivated to volunteer, erase fear, explore their own talents such as writing, singing, dancing and poetry.
</p>
<p>
Mel Milaap also creates the opportunity of social cohesion, by engaging into cultural activities, functions and all faith festivals alongside other important events. Alongside the above activities, Mel Milaap also provides the opportunity of a counselling service, whereby individual matters are addressed.

<p>
Yoga brings balance among the body, mind and soul and provides contraction and relaxations of the muscles, which removes tension and stress from the bones, muscles and skin.
</p>
<p>
Our Regular Yoga sessions makes one flexible, energetic and strong both from within and physically and works inside the body system, so glands produce and secrete the right amount of juices to keep the body fit.
</p>
<p>
Our sessions also involve breathing exercises, which helps to calm down the mind and helps to increase the lung capacity. This exercise helps to take in more oxygen throughout the body and removes carbon dioxide from the body, mind and soul.
</p>
<p>
We also concentrate on meditation. Meditation helps to control unwanted thoughts by training the mind.<br />
The mind always takes us to the future or past, but does not stay in the present. Therefore through meditation, one learns how to be in the present and enjoy their present life fully and happily.
</p>
<p>
Through Yoga, one can see physical, mental and spiritual results. The most important part of our Yoga sessions is to teach how to change habits, behaviour, attitudes and how to be more vigilant about eating habits, sleeping times, recreation time and how to enjoy a happy and grateful life amongst the beautiful world and its people.
</p>

SCYS successfully runs Bhangra courses over a 12 week period per course bringing participants to performance level.while offering opportunities to enhance social skills, have fun and interaction amongst peers as a team. Courses are £15 and available to ages 9 and above workshops take place weekly at SCYS within Radford Unity Complex.

<p>
Tuesday Night Simran Sessions gives students and other locals the chance to join with like minded individuals and benefit through relaxing and uplifting Naam Simran (meditation) and Gurbani. This is followed by an open discussion in English about the Hukamnama (Order of the Day) and general Sikh topics that may be raised. The Simran Session is finally finished with Langar Seva (free food).
</p>
<p>
Ardaas, Maharaj Prakash Seva is started at 6pm followed by Rehraas Sahib. This is followed by around 1 hour of Simran and 1 hour of discussion and finishes with Ardaas, Maharaj Sukassan Seva before Langar Seva.
